Alberto Contador

He is a Spanish cyclist, professional since 2003 and current member of the American team Trek-Segafredo, category UCI ProTeam. During his professional career, Alberto has run on the ONCE / Liberty Seguros, Discovery Channel, Astana and Saxo Bank Sungard / Tinkoff teams.

He was suspended for two years for the positive of clembuterol detected in an analysis during the Tour de France 2010. This is the maximum sanction that could be applied to the Spanish runner.
One month after winning the French race, Alberto received a notification from the UCI accusing him of a positive for 50 picograms of clembuterol.

In September of that year, Contador defended his innocence and argued that everything was the result of a "food contamination" after consuming beef treated with that substance.

Finally the TAS said that the Spanish athlete was suspended from January 25, 2011.

Contador had been suspended until August 6, 2012, so he lost the Tour of 2010 and the victories achieved in 2011.
