Óscar Sevilla

Óscar Sevilla Rivera is a Spanish-Colombian cyclist. Professional since 1998, stands out because of his climber skills.

The Spanish cyclist Óscar Sevilla was suspended as a result of his positive in a doping control on 15 August 2011 in the Vuelta a Colombia, announced the International Cycling Union (UCI).

A laboratory in Bogotá found hydroxyethyl in a urine test performed on the ciclyst during that race, the UCI said in a statement.

That same day, the 34-year-old Spaniard won the last stage of the Colombian cycling event, a 34-kilometer individual time trial in Medellín, but the winner of the sixtieth edition of the event was Sergio Luis Henao.

In the analysis of the case, the resolution acknowledges that it was an involuntary event, due to emergency medical treatment, and that the substance Hydroxyethil Starch did not increase Sevilla's sporting performance.

The Spanish cyclist accepted the decision. Sevilla returned to the Colombian team in the 2012 season.
