Brianna Rollins

American athlete Brianna Rollins, Olympic champion of 100 meters hurdles at the Rio 2016 Games, has been suspended with a year of sanction for breaking the anti-doping code.

The reason for the suspension is for having eluded on three occasions in less than 18 months anti-doping controls out of competition. In their specific case, the offenses have been committed for 6 months.




The fouls constitute a violation of the World Anti-Doping Code, with a penalty of up to two years. In its case it has been reduced to one year, whose beginning has been established for the 19 of December of 2016.

For this infraction not to be stripped of its gold medal in the Games of Rio because until its attainment had only failed once. Of course, will miss the World Championship in London next summer for which was a major favorite.

Rollins is the fifth fastest woman in history in this specialty with a record of 12.26 seconds and also made last season with the silver medal of 60 meters hurdles at the World Championship held in Portland, Oregon.
