Roberto Heras

Roberto Heras Hernández is a Spanish exciclist. He has belonged to three professional teams: Kelme, US Postal and Liberty Seguros-Würth. Currently he participate in mountain bike competitions such as the famous Titan Desert, which has won four times, three consecutively (2008, 2010, 2011 and 2012)

Heras was sanctioned after testing positive for recombinant erythropoietin (rhEPO) on a doping control in the twentieth stage of the Vuelta 2005, the Guadalajara-Alcalá de Henares time trial, held on 17 September.

However, the Supreme Court (TS) confirmed the annulment of that suspension that caused the loss of his triumph in the Vuelta of 2005 and the suspension of his sport license during two years.

Due to certain resources used by the Spanish runner, it was concluded that Heras did not commit any offense against anti-doping rules. He recovered his title in the Vuelta 2005 and its image was not affected.
